2) This Saturday 7/23 is the Hometown Brewdown in Catonsville. Some CRABSters will be pouring beer. You can attend even if you don’t bring beer. See http://catonsvillecoop.com/ for more info.
3) The homebrew extravaganza at Little Havana to benefit BARCS (Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter) will be held during Baltimore Beer Week on Wednesday October 12 from 6 to 9 PM. Contact Judy at judyneff1@gmail.com to enter a beer.
4) CRABS now has a firkin. If you’d like to put a beer in it for the BARCS event, speak up.
5) MASHOUT is coming up!

·On Saturday 8/20 CRABS will do our annual food competition. This year’s theme will be food-on-a-stick. (Note that while technically you *could* use toothpicks, they might not be judged favorably. Size matters!)

7) The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair homebrew competition will be next month. Entry deadline is 7/30. 98 of a maximum 100 entries have been entered so if you’d like to enter you’d better hurry. See http://mcaf.brewcomp.com/

9) Black Flag Brewing Company will open in Columbia next Wednesday July 27. Their website is http://www.blackflagbrewingco.com/
10) Jay Thorpe, an investor for Heroic Ale Works, informed us that the brewery will open in Woodbridge VA on or about Labor Day. If you go, tell them you know Jay. There’s no website but there is some info on Pinterest at https://www.pinterest.com/busybudgeter/paw/
