Minutes from February 2012 CRABS meeting
Date: Wednesday February 15, 2012
Place: Clipper City / Heavy Seas
1. The annual food/beer pairing at Trevor’s house will take place on Saturday May 19. Please partner up and coordinate pairings.
2. Mini MASHOUT at Grover’s parents’ place will be held the weekend of April 27-29.
3. This month’s competition was English ales. The club Secretary was too busy tasting other beers and fraternizing to record the results (again), but they will eventually be posted to the club website at http://www.crabsbrew.org .
4. 2011 Brewer of the Year awards were given out. Don’t quote me in this quotable document but I believe the winners were: Ty Ming (1st), Bryan Fleming (2nd), Joe O'Keefe (3rd), Kevin Rimlinger (4th) and Judy Neff (5th).
5. The Duclaw H.E.R.O. contest will be held for the second time. Entries are due on April 18th.
6. Max’s Belgian Beer Fest will take place this weekend, February 17-19.
7. There was a private judging of stouts for the upcoming AHA club-only stout competition to be held next month. I don’t remember if the results were announced. Actually I don’t remember much of anything. Who drove me home anyway? Edit = Drew Morgan’s Foreign Extra Stout (Export) was the winner and will be sent to the AHA Comp in March
8. Crabs4CRABS will be held the first weekend after Labor Day. I forget if it’s Saturday the 8th or Sunday the 9th, but we’ve got lots of time till then so don’t sweat it.
9. The Beer, Bourbon and Barbecue Fest will be held next month at the Timonium Fairgrounds. See http://www.beerandbourbon.com/maryland/show-info .
