Minutes from January 2012 CRABS meeting

1. Attendance and beer selection were both spectacular!
2. It was voted that from now on, homebrewers of the year are allowed to compete the following year.
3. The annual food/beer pairing at Trevor’s house will take place on the weekend of May 19-20. Which date has not been decided.
4. Mini MASHOUT at Grover’s parents’ place is coming back! Tentative date is April 27-29. It’s close enough to Baltimore that you could go for one day and not have to camp out . There *might* be a port‑o‑pot this year.
5. Eight additional entries were submitted for the 2012 BS Homebrew Contest, bringing the total to about 18. Deadline to submit entries is this Saturday January 21st. Ben, the contest coordinator and judge, will be hosting a MALT meeting at 5 PM that day, so if you want to drop off an entry you can hobnob with another club at the same time. 6. This month’s competition was brown ales. The club Secretary was too busy tasting other beers and fraternizing to record the results, but they will eventually be posted to the club website at http://www.crabsbrew.org .
7. Heavy Seas Ale House will open on February 15th near Little Italy. See http://tinyurl.com/7m8usyk . Perhaps CRABS will hold some meetings there.
8. Max’s Belgian Beer Fest will take place on February 17-19.
