1. We met at Heavy Seas again in the meeting room down the back hall. Attendance was roughly the same as last month – somewhere between 1 and 2 dozen.
 
2. MASHOUT was a big success. An estimated 70 people attended this year. CRABS made up a significant portion of that number – perhaps a third. Keith & Kara helped out tremendously this year, and going forward they will be the leads on this event. Jeff Adelsberger sent an event summary email earlier this week to CRABS members with some additional info. 3. A reminder that if at least 75% of our club’s members are AHA members, then our club insurance will be free through the AHA. See the following website for more details:
 
3. Jay Thorpe will be hosting a Big 10 Football opener party called “Big 10 Meatfest 2021” on Saturday September 4, featuring the PSU-Wisconsin game which kicks off at 12:00pm. Beer and brats will be provided. Location is 4622 Hale Ct, Ellicott City MD. Email Jay at agfront@hotmail.com for further info.
 
4. There will be a homebrew fest in Catonsville on Saturday September 11th from 3:00pm-9:00pm to benefit Katie’s Bridge to Independence, which supports young adults with neuromuscular disease become more independent through academic scholarships and small home adaptions. Cost is $30, or a keg of homebrew gets you in free. Two live bands and food provided, along with 20+ homebrews. See https://www.katiesbridgetoindependence.org for the organization’s website. 5. Crabs4CRABS will be held on Sunday September 19th from 12:00pm-6:00pm at Guilford Park, 9900 Guilford Rd, Jessup MD (the usual location). There is no cost for CRABS dues paying members.  Guests are welcome, but there is $20 charge for each quest.  We will also provide brisket and/or pulled pork in addition to the crabs.  Please sign up on the following Google document so we know how much to get:
 
6. Maryland Microbrewery Festival and homebrew competition will happen on Saturday September 25 at Union Mills Homestead in Westminster. Festival website is http://www.marylandmicrobreweryfestival.com/ and homebrew competition website is https://mdmicrobrewfest.brewcompetition.com/
 
7. There won’t be a Guild crab feast because NASA Goddard is not fully open yet, but there will be a 100-person event on Saturday September 18 at Rockburn Branch Park - West in Elkridge. It will be for friends and family of Zymernauts and homebrew clubs, and Zymernauts will brew the beer for it. Tickets are $55 + fees for adults, $10 + fees for children 6-12. 8. The annual CRABS Food & Beer pairing will be Saturday October 16 from 1:00pm-6:00pm at Rob Kiernan’s house (2315 Old Frederick Rd, Catonsville MD). Pair up with another CRABS member or your significant other to bring a food dish (main, side, or dessert) and a beer that pairs well with it.  We will also have a competition to select the best beer, best food, and best pairing.  Please sign up on the following Google document:
