1. We had our holiday party at Ben’s house. There was lots of great beer and food, and we did a 750 swap. Brewer of the Year awards were handed out. The final standings were:

  • 5th place - Brian England
  • 4th place - John Jester
  • 3rd place - Joe O’Keefe
  • 2nd place - Rob Kiernan
  • 1st place - Les White and Trevor Cheyne

We also elected/appointed 2023 officers:

  • President – Joe O’Keefe
  • Vice president – Christopher Hermance
  • Secretary – Ben Schwalb
  • Treasurer – Rob Kiernan
  • Happy hour coordinator – Ethan Weikel
  • Guild rep – Tom Flavin

2. Dues are being accepted for 2023. You can Venmo Rob K. at rob.kiernan@yahoo.com or give him cash or a check at the January meeting. It’s $25 for singles and $40 for couples.

3. We have $2,574.17 in the treasury. Rob K. sent a detailed report on December 19, so check your archives if you want to see the details.

4. Competition beer styles for 2023 have been determined and will be posted to http://www.crabsbrew.org/competition_schedule

5. The April competition will be Manor Hill IPA clone. We will get the recipe sometime next month, and the April meeting might be held at Manor Hill where employees will judge the entries.

6. Ingredients for the same grain / same hop competition in May are TBD.

7. Charm City Meadworks will be having a cask event on February 11. So far the following breweries are slated to be there:

  • Oliver
  • Brewer’s Art
  • Mystique Barrel Brewing and Lager House (a new venture that Tom Pagano is involved in)

8. Next meeting: Wednesday January 18, 2023. We hope to return to Heavy Seas. Competition will be hedonistic.
