1) Jason Heinen’s winning beer from last month’s competition is being brewed today, Thursday October 17, at Checkerspot, until around 2:00 PM.It was originally supposed to be brewed on their pilot system, but they liked the beer so much they will brew it on their large system.Feel free to stop by either during or afterwards.

2) On Sunday October 20 there will be a block party at the 1500 block of Battery Ave in Baltimore and they are looking for homebrewers to serve beer.Contact Brandon at bmoregraphics@outlook.com if you’re interested.

3) The 10th annual Homebrew Extravaganza will be held at Checkerspot Brewing on Wednesday October 23.  If you’re interested in entering a beer, contact Judy at judyneff1@gmail.com.  All slots might be filled but it doesn’t hurt to check.

4) WTMD’s 5th annual Mighty Pint homebrew competition and festival will be held on Saturday November 9.  Two winning beers will be selected, with one getting brewed at Nepenthe and the other at Brewers Art.  Go to https://wtmd.org/radio/the-mighty-pint-homebrew-competition/ for more info and https://www.nepenthehomebrew.com/products/wtmd-competitor-registration to register a beer.

5) Registration is open until November 9 for MALT’s Turkey Shoot homebrew competition.Judging will be at Hysteria Brewing on November 16.See http://turkeyshoot.brewcompetition.com to register as a judge, steward, or competitor.

6) The Southern County Amateur Brewers Society (SCABS) of York PA is throwing a homebrewing event that will coincide with Hibrewnation (see http://www.hibrewnation.com/) in February 2020.The idea is to add homebrew and a homebrew competition. 7) Our table theme for the Guild holiday party will be beer superheroes, or “superbeeroes”.Dress up as a superbeero that you make up, such as Hoptimus Prime or Dr. Vorlauf.Food will be hero sandwiches.See the CRABS Google docs:

9)  This month’s competition was porters and stouts.  There were 7 entries.  The winners were:
