1. The 12^th annual Homebrew Extravaganza will be held next Wednesday October 26^th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Checkerspot.  Competitors can set up at 5:00 and sample other competitors’ beers before serving their own.  Attendees pay just $10 for all they can drink, and competitors enter free.  See the Facebook event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/562403305670412

2. Guild holiday party particulars:

• Saturday 12/3 at Arbutus Community Association, 1349 Stevens Avenue, Baltimore.

• 6:00-10:00 PM (setup starts at 4:00 PM; no Friday night setup).

• Need items for raffle and silent auction.  A solicitation letter has been attached to this email.  When you send it to prospective donors, edit the file accordingly:

  • Change the date to the current date.

  • Change the word “Donor” in the greeting to the business name.

• CRABS will have a club table; theme and food to be determined.

• Tickets will be $25 apiece as always.  When the purchasing link is established it will be sent out.

3. The next “first Thursday” happy hour will be on November 3^rd at Sapwood Cellars starting at 5:00 PM.

5. This month’s competition was UK beers.  There were 7 entries.  Winners were:

6. Next meeting: Wednesday November 16.  Competition will be porters and stouts.  Heavy Seas will be doing some renovations, so we don’t know if they’ll be able to host us.  If not, surely someone will host in their home.  (Rob F?  Ben S?)
